What does a typical day look like in your role or secondment?
I mostly work from home but go to site or the office when needed. A typical day could involve giving a presentation to the leader and deputy leader of the council about a scheme, preparing for a public consultation or writing a report for a board meeting. One of the things I really enjoy about my job is the variety.
What’s the best thing about working for Waterman Aspen?
The best thing is Waterman Aspen understand that their best asset is their staff. I know the work I’m doing is valued, and that I’m valued as an individual.
What would you say to someone interested in a career in your role?
I would say just give it a try. A lot of life skills are transferable into Project Management – you don’t need any specific qualifications to give it a try. Start by working as an assistant project manager and see if it’s for you. You just need to be organised and able to multi-task.
