Experience required… 

Essential: 

  • Developed experience and expertise within the Highways/Civil Engineering field
  • Comprehensive knowledge of drainage design processes and procedures relevant to the civil engineering discipline
  • Conversant in MicroDrainage and AutoCAD
  • Knowledge of Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB), SuDS design and management
  • Appreciation of technical governance procedures and how they are applied within a consulting engineering environment
  • Ability to produce or oversee the production of technically sound engineering solutions, complying with all relevant technical standards and client requirements
  • Experience in undertaking project-related tasks associated with health, safety and welfare, e.g., Construction (Design and Management) Regulations
  • Successful completion of initial professional development leading to either Incorporated or Chartered status, or an equivalent professional licence (to the level defined by their education)
  • Actively seek to reduce carbon through innovative designs
  • Demonstrable commitment to a plan of action and key dates leading to the successful completion of either the professional review or end point assessment, resulting in the award of Incorporated or Chartered status or equivalent
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in an appropriate subject, or demonstrable equivalent further learning
  • Ability to work in a team, producing technically sound engineering solutions
  • Preparation and checking of designs, calculations, drawings, and documentation as part of producing scheme deliverables that satisfy quality, cost, and programme criteria
  • Liaising with client and supplier representatives at peer level, attending progress meetings, and responding to queries
  • Undertake consultation (both statutory and non-statutory) concerning proposed highway projects
  • Undertake site visits, inspections, and supervision
  • Drive effective health and safety practices within the team

Desirable:
