Area Manager from our London North region, Chris Styles has ‘braved the shave’ and donated his hair to the Little Princess Trust, while raising money for Macmillan cancer charity.
After his best friend was diagnosed with cancer before COVID-19, Chris was determined to raise funds. Unfortunately, every fundraiser he had organised was cancelled due to the pandemic… until now! After not being able to get a regular hair cut last year, Chris decided to turn a negative into a positive and donate his hair to the Little Princess Trust, who provide wigs to children and young people affected by cancer – all while raising money for Macmillan as well.
Chris commented “If my hair gets used to make someone else feel better while they’re going through such a hard time, then the reward outweighs the little effort it took me to grow it!”.
Chris also shared some top tips for anyone considering donating their hair:
- Take extra care of your hair in the lead up to the cut
- Avoid conditioner beforehand and allow hair to fully dry
- You only need 7 inches of healthy hair to donate!
Amazing work Chris and huge well done for your donation and fundraising!
