Just over two years ago Chris Wheeler (Associate Director) had an operation to remove a cancerous bone tumour from his leg and replace it with a metal implant. At the time he was told he might not cycle very far ever again (which was horrible to hear as cycling was Chris’s passion!).
This week marks 2 years since he got back on a bike and since that day he has ridden 5,014km! Here is Chris pictured with his dad on the day of the first ride back on his bike.
This is an amazing achievement – well done to Chris for defying all the odds. Chris would also like to thank the truly amazing NHS for their skill and dedication with the surgery and aftercare.
