On 8th September, James Trafford, Marc Stedman and Amrik Randhawa from the Water Sector and Ben McGrath and Jeff Kok from East Mids Region enjoyed spending a day with the Friends of Cromford Canal (FoCC) Charity Group at Langley Mill in Nottingham.
The day was spent clearing vegetation along a section of canal that the Charity are restoring in order to extend the current canal further along its current route.
Working alongside the charity team, the group managed to clear a significant section of vegetation, with the whole team feeling a real sense of achievement from their efforts.
James organised the Waterman Aspen in the Community day with John Barker from FoCC earlier in the year and James was really pleased to receive this feedback from John.
“Thank you for coming yesterday. Your group really worked hard on a very hot day and the work they put in really made a difference. We were wondering if another section of your group could come again and help in November 2021 or possibly pencil us in again for next year. A big thanks again from the Friends of the Cromford Canal”.
So a great success and we’ll be back later on in the year to help out some more! Well done to all involved.
