Experience required for successful application

  • UK Experience within a Lead Local Flood Authority, private or third sector client
  • Providing technical input to drainage, flood risk and SuDS design
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation including the Flood & Water Management Act 2010 and Land Drainage Act 1991
  • Good understanding and knowledge of drainage design principles, techniques, policy, guidance and best practice
  • Degree in a related technical field (environmental / civil engineering) or equivalent experience, and be a member of an appropriate institution
  • Experience with surface water flood risk management, including land drainage, highway drainage and other sources of flood risk, such as rivers and groundwater
  • Relevant design software skills GIS Mapping, AutoCAD and MicroDrainage
  • Good knowledge of planning processes and surface water management for developments and planning applications
  • A full UK driving licence is desirable
