Experience required… 

Essential: 

  • Management and Transportation experience at a senior management level within the UK-based public sector. 
  • Experience in leading and implementing Transport Planning strategy on a regional scale to deliver across multiple social, economic, and environmental outcomes.
  • Stakeholder engagement, liaising with local, regional and national stakeholders (such as Network Rail, National Highways, Combined Authorities, etc.), and local Council Members, political parties and the public.
  • Experience in writing and achieving funding bids from local and central government grants, for example DfT, and Combined Authorities.
  • Delivery of ‘green’ agendas in transportation, including active travel, road safety and promoting behaviour change policy.

Desirable: 

  • Experience of working at a senior management level in a Local Authority.
  • Delivery of strategic policy on bus, light rail, rail and EV planning.
