Linda McGregor continues volunteer work for Be My Eyes

Linda McGregorDivisional Director, Linda McGregor continues to work closely with Be My Eyes, a free mobile app with one main goal: to make the world more accessible for blind and low-vision people.

About Be My Eyes
Founded by Hans Jørgen Wiberg, the app launched in 2015 with his vision of ‘small acts of kindness with global impact’.  Hans developed an app which gives the blind and limited sighted instant access to sighted volunteers, helping them to lead more independent lives. Linda is one of more than 4 million global volunteers who are on call to give assistance via video.

Here is a link to Richard’s story where he shares his experience of navigating stairs at a railway station using the app and his helper could direct him through the station Richard’s Story | Getting Unstuck: How to Move Past that Familiar Moment (

Linda commented ‘For the volunteer, it’s an amazing feel-good factor being there when required at that moment of need and to know that it is so flexible. You can be anywhere in the world, any location and able to answer every call, or simply answer only when its convenient’.
