Andre Czlapka – Senior Bridge Engineer

What does your morning routine look like now? Working for me is Tuesdays to Thursdays.  I normally start around 9am and work straight through to 3 or 4pm with cup of tea breaks as and when needed or when my wife needs something doing.

Where is your home office? My ‘office’ is on the top floor of our Victorian house.

What’s on the menu for lunch? Lunch would be generally a sandwich and a cuppa.

What work are you currently involved in? Work at the moment is collating the bridge stock data into a format that can be easily transferred into our new bridge management system and checking for errors.

Best bit about remote working? Best bit is that I have a decent computer to use (a corporate laptop was not available for me) and not being in an open plan office with all the distracting noise.

Worst bit about remote working? Worst bit is the lack of face to face discussions and also the banter.

What do you do for your one bit of exercise each day? My wife and I tend to go for a walk every day when the roads are quieter in the early evenings.  Being OAPs’ we need to be more careful.

What is the first place you will go when lockdown is over? Personally, I would want to go around Scotland again on my motorbike, but no doubt my wife has other ideas ?
