What does your morning routine look like now? Wake up, do the usual bits, walk dog, wake teenager, get wife breakfast as she’s on an early shift (Alex works from home as a works scheduler for Anglian Water). Get to work with teenager in our shared office.

Where is your home office? Conal and I work in the Boys Room, Alex is in the small bedroom which has been turned into her office.

What’s on the menu for lunch? Mugshot, or Naked Noodles, some type of crisps, Pepsi Max or Diet Coke.

What work are you currently involved in? Doing secondment work for two local authorities, in traffic engineering and my WA management role.

What keeps you happy or motivated whilst working at home? Playing garden football with Conal, doing quizzes with my wife. FaceTiming/ Microsoft Teaming with the wider family. Planting in the garden and mostly seeing stuff grow all keeps me happy. Having time to appreciate the people in my life.

I’m motivated by making sure my team is okay and also by how what I’m working on may help improve air quality and integrated transport in the future.

Best bit about remote working? Seeing more of my family.

Worst bit about remote working? The fact that I can’t hug my parents when I drop their shopping off.

What is the first place you will go when lockdown is over? Take mum and dad to see family in Cumbria.
