Selena Francis – Ltd Co

What does your morning routine look like now? Generally I wake early so it’s a case of taking the dog out for a walk and then caffinating before the work-day starts

Where is your home office? Unusually I suspect, my home office is our Narrowboat which is based in the very scenic Mercia Marina in Derbyshire

What’s on the menu for lunch? I am a foodie and have had more time to prepare better meals during lockdown.  Today’s lunch was a sandwich of left-over roast beef with baby-leaf salad and a mustard & black pepper mayo, eaten on one of the picnic benches in our marina.

What work are you currently involved in? My work has been heavily focussed on smart data use the integration of Smartsheets but I am now starting to get involved in projects concerned with the future of Public Transport throughout the West Midlands, which is exciting!

Best bit about remote working? Plenty of time with my Husband and our dog and our regular visits from the many species of birds and fish around the marina – including a rare Black Swan who likes to stick his head through open hatches so see if we have spare food!

Worst bit about remote working? Neither my Husband or the doggie have a mute button!

What keeps you happy or motivated whilst working at home? My usual commute is between 2 and 4 hours daily, dependant on traffic so having that time back means I can be more productive whilst also actually getting to do the things I love, like cooking, spending time with my Husband & our Dog and walking!

I find my job varied and interesting and that alone keeps me motivated 🙂

What do you do for your one bit of exercise each day? Dog walking

What is the first place you will go when lockdown is over? Apart from close family, we will probably go and spend time at our property in Wales that we are renovating to get work started back up.
