Sam Wright – Area Manager

What does your morning routine look like now? I normally wake up around 6:30am, pop the kettle on and go out into the garden to feed the Rabbits. Then I’m able to get 2 hours work in before getting ready whilst everything is quiet and I can get stuff done. Then, at around 9am I’ll get dressed and ready for the day knowing the key tasks are already well progressed!

Where is your home office? Upstairs in a dedicated office.

What’s on the menu for lunch? Mainly beans on toast, with a delivery Pizza on a Tuesday.

What work are you currently involved in? A303 Sparkford to Ilchester – Highways England Scheme.

Best bit about remote working? No Stress and anxiety related to commuting and not being at home. More flexibility for deliveries and spending lunch hours with family watching Netflix.

Worst bit about remote working? Differentiating work from home. Hard to switch off!

What keeps you happy or motivated whilst working at home? We’re expecting our first baby in August. Although Lockdown is long and difficult, counting down the days to her arrival is what’s keeping me going at the moment.

What do you do for your one bit of exercise each day? Beat Saber ?.. although you can do that indoors!

What is the first place you will go when lockdown is over? McDonalds
