In January we celebrated Donnie Matheson’s 20 year anniversary with Waterman Aspen. A fitting location for a Chartered Bridge Engineer, as colleagues and partners enjoyed a meal overlooking the North East’s finest bridges at the Baltic, Gateshead.
Unfortunately there was no planned bridge inspections for Donnie to gaze upon, so enjoyment was taken in the form of a delightful 3 course meal. Careful attention was taken to the meal choices on offer as Donnie is renowned for his hatred of cheesecake, custard and local North East delicacy; Pease Pudding!
Working and living in the North East since the 90s, Donnie finally secured confirmation of his full adopted-Geordie status, and was presented on the evening with a framed Newcastle United shirt, complete with ‘MATHESON 20’ on the back.
Donnie joined Waterman Aspen as an Area Manager and Principal Bridge Engineer from Durham County Council, who remain a key North East client to this day. He has been responsible for developing the secondment business in the North East, Yorkshire and Humberside and became a Director in 2017 with a national remit for staff career development.
Here’s to many more happy years ahead.
