Presentation at Annual Transport Planners Meeting (TPM)

Jonathan BarlowJonathan Barlow a Transport Planner presented a paper at the annual Transport Practitioners Meeting (TPM) in Nottingham in July.

His paper, entitled; “Maintaining and Enhancing the Active Travel Networks for the 21st Century; Lessons from the British New Towns” focused on Walking and Cycling infrastructure and compared two similar developments that were created during the same period of urban expansion within the southern England.

He described what both Authorities and highways delivery partners are doing to rejuvenate and ultimately enhance their networks to encourage further public use during this period of financial constraint.

He also outlined examples of best practice and processes used by both of these Authorities which can be used by Clients who are presented with similar Active Travel infrastructure renewal and delivery challenges.
