Waterman Aspen sponsored the 1st and 18th holes in a recent charity golf day for Cardiac Risk in the Young and the Alex Reid Memorial Fund.
Alex was a healthy and fit 16 year old girl who had an undiagnosed heart condition and tragically died in her sleep in June 2012. Her family were totally unaware that Alex had anything wrong with her heart.
CRY raise money to create awareness, fund research and provide heart screening sessions to try to prevent this happening to any more young people, as it is estimated that 14 young people between the age of 14 and 35 die each week from an undiagnosed heart condition.
The Alex Reid Memorial Fund has raised over £50,000 in the 2 years since Alex’s death and a further £3,000 was raised at the golf day held at the Beauchief Golf Course in Sheffield.
Waterman Aspen also entered a team of 4 in the golf event and although we didn’t win, Paul Musgrave was nearest the pin on the 14th hole and won himself a prize.
Thank you to Donnie Matheson, Paul Musgrave, Jamie Horsley and Andy Burke for representing Waterman Aspen on the day.
