Utilities & Streetworks
Our work in Utilities & Streetworks means we’re the one-stop-shop for the people you need on your infrastructure project. Our colleagues fill the missing piece within your team, helping you to exceed targets, improve efficiency and keep stakeholders happy.
Project managers, site supervisors and utilities coordinators complete our team – they offer support to essential services across the UK including gas, water, telecommunications, electricity, renewables, and EV charging. They work on projects as diverse as repairing a small hole in a cable network, to renewing 200km of mains piping.
We are also providing the specialist expertise needed to support local authorities in reaching their net-zero and clean air zone targets, and in reducing carbon emissions.

Who do we work with?
Our team supports all aspects of utilities maintenance for Tier 1 statutory undertakers, such as water companies, telecommunications providers, power companies and street lighting providers, along with Tier 1 utilities contractors.
Our streetworks specialists work with local authorities to help manage their network, working in collaboration with our Highways & Transportation team.

Here’s a snapshot of just a few of the projects our people are involved in.
Street lighting design and technical approval
Working with Warwickshire County Council, our team have been providing key technical support for a major upgrade of street lighting across the county.
Our role includes providing technical approval of street lighting and electrical designs for section 38s and 278s, along with surveying existing assets prior to design, identifying existing cable layouts and providing circuit schematics.
Pre-construction utilities design for West Midlands Metro extension
Our people are coordinating a major set of utility diversions and upgrades in relation to the multi-million pound West Midlands Metro extension from Wednesbury to Brierley Hill, and the Birmingham Eastside extension to Digbeth.
Our secondments are providing exactly the skills required, for as long as required, including CAD and technical support and coordinating the varying requirements of a myriad of utility companies.
Assuring utility work compliance for HS2
This is a great example of our utility team working alongside our specialists already working within the HS2 project.
We are providing skilled colleagues to ensure all non-contestable utility works delivered by statutory undertakers on behalf of HS2 comply with the High Speed Rail Act. We are also making sure compliance plans are in place, and flagging any non-compliance to project and contract managers.
