An increasing population needs an improved railway infrastructure, not only to aid commuting but also to transport goods as a more environmentally-friendly alternative to road freight. We have extensive experience in all aspects of railway infrastructure, including station and depot design, maintaining and upgrading structures, heavy and light rail schemes and underground networks.
We work for train operating companies, rail contractors and Network Rail to bring long-term improvements to rail users. We work in partnership with Merseytravel, First Group and Centro and are registered under the Railway Industry Supplier Qualification Scheme (RISQS) thanks to our experience and expertise in engineering, health and safety and environmental issues.
Waterman Aspen secondees support consultants and contractors in the rail sector, working on short and long term secondments and helping cover peaks in workload and fill gaps when specialist expertise is required. We are currently supplying staff who undertake bridge inspection and assessment for Network Rail’s CEFA and CAFA contracts, incorporating examinations of bridges, tunnels, viaducts; structural assessments; operational property inspections and earthworks examinations. Our secondees have experience in the design and structural assessment of metallic, concrete, masonry, timber and complex specialist structures. They can prepare detailed method statements, organise and manage trackside inspections requiring track possessions and are proficient in the design of track layouts, lighting designs and track drainage.
