area manager - engineering
We are seeking to employ a Senior/Principal Engineer on a permanent basis(discipline flexible) who is interested in or has previous experience in Business Development and staff recruitment and management.
This position is not a traditional Engineering consultancy role - we are offering a more diverse role combining your knowledge of the Engineering sector along with your management and business development skills and putting both to action to develop and grow our business. There could be some day to day work involved as a traditional Engineer if client demand is there however much of the work will likely be sales driven.
The role would entail much telephone communication both with New clients in the private sector, current clients (both Local authority and Private Sector), staff and new candidates hence you would need to feel comfortable cold calling and have a clear and concise telephone manner.

Accurate written English is a must as there could be reports, interview summaries and Bids and tenders that you may be involved in.
Ideally you will have proven project management and staff management experience with the potential to progress and develop both yourself and any staff in the future.

We have a unique market position where we can demonstrate strong historical success in building teams and services to keep our clients satisfied. The successful applicant will report directly to the Profit Centre Manager (Divisional Director or Director level).
