A Waterman Aspen staff member was seconded working as Site Validator / Resident Engineer on the Brierley Hill Sustainable Access Scheme.

The project was to ease traffic congestion through Brierley Town Centre and to improve air quality.

The project was in five sections. The Parallel route which bypasses the main High Street., three local junction improvements and a new link road, Waterfront Way which will relieve traffic congestion to the local Merry Hill Shopping Centre.

The scheme was valued at £27m which was 90% funded by the DfT and 10% funded by Westfield, the owners of Merry Hill.

The project was designed by Waterman Transport & Development and constructed by Carillion.

The Waterman Aspen Site Validator ensured that the scheme was built as designed and dealt with and approved any design or technical issues that were raised on site during the construction stage.
