Waterman Aspen's secondment service provides clients with top quality professional and technical staff to assist with peaks in workload whilst recruiting or when short-term specialist expertise is required.  We offer a range of secondment options to meet all needs, thus allowing clients to use their staff budget in the most cost-effective way.

Most of our staff are permanent employees and can be seconded into design/client offices, carry out site supervision, or both.  They include all levels of engineering staff from Clerks of Works to Senior Chartered Professionals, as well as Architectural Assistants, Building Surveyors and Environmental/Geotechnical specialists.

Waterman Aspen staff are available for as long or short a period as necessary and, although most clients are able to advise us when a secondment is coming to an end, there is no official notice period.  Because most of our staff are permanent employees, clients have the benefit of continuity from one project to another and many secondees return to the same client on a number of occasions as the need arises.

Whilst the secondment of individual staff continues to be a popular choice for our clients we have seen an increasing demand for multi skilled teams as a project specific delivery vehicle. This approach has been particularly successful within the social housing sector, where Housing Associations and Local Authorities need to deliver government driven targets, such as Decent Homes Improvements.

We take seriously the career development and training of our staff as well as keeping them up to date with the latest developments in their respective technical disciplines.  Our Directors and Senior Managers hold relevant professional qualifications and have many years’ experience working in local government and private sector consultancy.  They have first hand experience of a client's requirements.

As part of the Waterman Group we co-exist with our traditional consultancy in offices throughout the UK and beyond.  All seconded staff can call on the expertise and management support of staff in these offices should the need arise.
